By 2278, the officer uniform sported black trousers and a double-breasted red jacket worn over a turtlenecked undershirt. The undershirt, along with stripes on the pants, shoulder, and left sleeve had distinctive division colors. The jacket closed by a clasp at the right shoulder which also held the ranks.
The wearer had a Starfleet insignia on the left breast. They also wore a black belt which had the Starfleet insignia as a belt buckle. An optional skirt was available for female officers.

By 2327, the ribbed collars of the division color undershirts were replaced by shorter "crewneck"-style collars. The division armband no longer carried gold trim along its edges, instead red was used as seen before on enlisted division armbands.

By 2344, the belts and undershirts were no longer in use, and the uniform insignia doubled as a combadge. The combadge was redesigned around 2348.
This type of uniform was replaced by a new one in the 2350s.

Introduced alongside the standard duty uniform jumpsuit, a skant uniform was also available to Starfleet officers. It was identical to the standard duty, however, it featured a skirt instead of pants.
Mostly worn by female crew members.

A holdover from the last uniform design, this white uniform was worn by medical staff. Consisting of a white wide collared shirt worn over the division undershirt, it was worn with white pants and boots. While still sporting the division color shoulder tabs where rank was displayed on the last version of the uniform, the only rank insignia was now displayed on the above the left cuff, where a division color strap was added. The left breast now sported a different medical symbol when compared to the previous version.
There was also a flat color variant of this uniform.

Captains could wear a red sleeveless, low-necked vest that had black sides, which was worn over the standard undershirt. These vests could be worn under their jacket or without it.

Another variant was available. It was red, V necked jacket, with gold trims, black sleeves and sides, over the standard undershirt. The wearer had a Starfleet insignia on the left breast. It was worn with the same black belt and Starfleet insignia belt buckle as the duty uniform.

Enlisted officers wore crimson and tan jumpsuits with black undershirts (red for trainees). It also had division colors on shoulder tabs and strap on the left sleeve. The rank insignia indicators were pinned directly to the left sleeve between the strap and elbow. These uniforms also came with belts which had the Starfleet insignia as a buckle.

Cadets whore the standard duty uniform, although the undershirt, along with stripes on the pants, shoulder, and left sleeves were Flame red.

Flag officer uniforms were the same as the duty officer s uniform, red jackets over a white turtleneck shirt, except that the pants stripe and tunic were trimmed in gold.

Starfleet offered a vest with pockets to hold various engineering instruments, for their Chief Engineers to wear. It was worn over the standard undershirt.

Engineering suits were still in use during this time in order to protect engineering personnel while servicing the warp and impulse engines, as well as performing other tasks where they may be exposed to radiation.
The suits were primarily white in color, featuring a black collarpiece. They had a division stripe on the left sleeve and a Starfleet insignia patch on the left shoulder. They also head large white gloves and boots.
A variant worn by cadets featured a red collarpiece and division sleeve stripe.

Security officers wore a specialized uniform consisting of a red shirt, pants, and red and black boots. The armor included a helmet that bore the Starfleet delta.
The red shirt was worn over the dark green security colored undershirt, and sported the colored strap near the left cuff. The pants had the standard division colored strip running down the sides, but were much tighter near the boots when compared to the standard black pants.

There were two types of service uniforms; one was a red jumper, with black chest and sleeves, worn over a sky blue turtlenecked undershirt. It also had the same belt as the duty uniform. The second was an all black jumpsuit, over the sky blue turtlenecked undershirt. It had division color piping at the shoulders

Strike teams were sent along on away missions in case of hostility. They donned special field uniforms, tan in color, whit a ribbed shirt worn over a dark blue turtleneck undershirt and left sleeve strap. The jacket had a large area made of a different material. The pants were the same color as the shirt with dark blue piping running down the side. Unlike the standard uniform, the pants were not tucked into the boots.
Officers could also wear these uniforms over their division colored turtleneck. They had a division colored and left sleeve strap and blue piping running down the side of the pant legs. Officers wore their Starfleet insignia belts. Captains wore a gray variant.

The Excursion Jackets sported a large ribbed collar and several external pockets. The rank insignia was worn above the right cuff, and a patch of Earth's solar system and departmental color stripe was attached to the left shoulder.

In keeping with the Starfleet practice of allowing officers of command rank to wear a less formal variant of the uniform command officers were given the option of wearing a suede leather bomber jacket version of the uniform. This was worn over the department color turtleneck.
